Ahead of crucial debates in the House of Lords on the Welfare Reform and Work Bill, the DBC has sent Peers two briefings on how the proposals would affect disabled people their families and carers.
The below briefing for the Bill’s ‘Report stage’ debate covers employment as well as a call to exempt carers from the benefit cap. This debate will take place on Monday 25th January.

The second briefing is focused on our concerns on the £30 a week cut to Employment and Support Allowance for new claimants in the Work Related Activity Group. The cut would also apply to Universal Credit. It also includes our concerns on the cuts to child tax credits. This debate will take place on Wednesday 27th January.
